History and culture
Leapfrog Systems Consulting, LLC was founded in 2000 by Darby Westfall immediately following the era of Y2K testing. The company is founded with a grateful appreciation of loving what we do while providing a benefit to others.
Leapfrog Systems is a woman-owned business, and Darby has a passion for the software development life cycle (SDLC). The processes for guiding a custom solution from concept to completion had its roots in the early 1990s at the Medical University of South Carolina where Darby and a small programming team banded together to meet the ad hoc software needs of a major university, while carefully observing standardization and risk management strategies. |
The real beginning
It was love at first sight when the TRS-80 computer showed up at Darby's high school in Mississippi. Darby went on to get a B.S. in math/computer science at a Rhodes College. in Memphis, Tennessee.
Darby began her career as a mainframe programmer, continued to adapt to new technologies as they arrived for the next 30 years and remains involved in many technical aspects of solution delivery. During one such engagement, she was named as a contributor on a patent for "System and method for organizing managing and accessing large quantities of data from non-homogenous data sources" (US Patent 7702694). Darby delights in bringing team members together, each with their unique skills, to meet goals in a mutually beneficial collaboration. |
