Created the data model and developed a technical process for interfacing information from international contractors and internal budget analysts. Conversion of pipeline transmission contractsClient is the largest energy infrastructure company in North America with 84,000 miles of pipeline.
Business need
Convert data from four separate natural gas pipeline operation systems (obtained from company acquisition) into parent company's proprietary system. Pipeline information contains contractual details regarding customer’s purchased rights to use the pipeline for gas transmission. Specifically, data includes contract pricing details, allowable pipeline point quantities, agency agreements and capacity release arrangements in which customers release purchased pipeline rights to others. Solution Leapfrog interpreted pipeline business rules, guided the user community through the data mapping, and created the process for tracking and evaluating each data conversion over a five-year period. Each project phase was critical to the company’s mission to consolidate systems. Accuracy was paramount to ensure natural gas delivery reliability and required consummate documentation as it was subject to thorough review by the FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission). Results Over 28,500 miles of gas pipeline service contracts were successfully converted from the first three pipeline systems (the fourth is in progress). A smooth transition was facilitated by the data conversion preceding the final conversion which allowed customers time to train and review their known contracts. |

Collect and organize energy load forecast and inter-related generator characteristics from disparate sources into a model designed to minimize energy generation cost while maximizing reliability. Solution Leapfrog was responsible for all facets of the project: planning, implementation, product validation and client communications during the 24-month implementation.
